The Legend of Hairy Man - El Chupacabra Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

LadyBlackCat: I stopped by to check on El Chupacabra, and the cache is indeed gone. Someone apparently took a saw to part of the tree in order to take the ammo box, so it looks like this one has had a good run and come to an end.

The Legend of The Hairy Man - El Chupacabra

Series Info

For over 200 years, locals of Round Rock have spotted what appears to be a man covered in thick hair living in the wilderness near the town. Some have guessed he might have fallen off a wagon and lost his way. Others think perhaps he was raised by animals. In any case, he has never failed to alarm those who have spotted him. Frequently, there are reports of this Hairy Man chasing those passing by and causing quite a panic in the community. Recently, there have been sightings of more than just the Hairy Man in the Round Rock area. Mysterious creatures have been spotted rooting around the community.

Many of them have apparently traveled outside of their typical home range, as residents claim to have observed the Yeti, the Abominable Snowman, Sasquatch, El Chupacabra, Bigfoot, and the Beamon Monster - all here in Round Rock! While no one is sure what explanation is behind these appearances, you can help by investigating these sightings!

The Legend of the Hairy Man Series consists of 6 caches + a final cache, GC8MBBE.  In each of these 6 caches, you will find one number; together, these numbers will help you discover the coordinates for the final cache. This series is being published especially for the 18th Annual Texas Challenge and Geocaching Festival.  The first 100 people to find all 7 caches and punch out their passports will receive a limited edition geocoin commemorating the series.

Cache Info

El Chupacabra is no stranger to Texas.  He is very familiar with the southern section of the state.  It does seem odd that he has traveled this far north, though.  There have been a series of attacks on the local goat population, and that points to his presence in the area.  You will have to solve this PUZZLE and figure out how to prevent future attacks. The cache is at the posted coordinates.
