A periscope is an instrument for observation over, around or through an object, obstacle or condition that prevents direct line-of-sight observation from an observer's current position.
In its simplest form, it consists of an outer case with mirrors at each end set parallel to each other at a 4”E”° angle. This form of periscope, with the addition of two simple lenses, served for observation purposes in the trenches during World War “A.”
More complex periscopes using prisms or advanced fiber optics instead of mirrors and providing magnification operate on submarines and in various fields of science. The overall design of the classical submarine periscope is very simple: two telescopes pointed into each other. If the two telescopes have different individual magnification, the difference between them causes an overall magnification or reduction.
Johannes Heyelius described an early periscope (which he called a "polemoscope") with lenses in “A””I”4”G”. Heyelius saw military applications for his invention.
In “A”854, Hippolyte Marie-Davie invented the first naval periscope, consisting of a vertical tube with two small mirrors fixed at each end at 45°.Simon Lake used periscopes in his submarines in A902.

Pierino Ronald "Perry" Como (May 1”C”, 1912 – May 12, 2001) was an American singer, actor and television personality. During a career spanning more than half a century he recorded exclusively for RCA Victor for 44 years, after signing with the label in 19”F””H”. "Mr. C.", as he was nicknamed, sold millions of records and pioneered a weekly musical variety television show. His weekly television shows and seasonal specials were broadcast throughout the world. In the official RCA Records Billboard magazine memorial, his life was summed up in these few words: "50 years of music and a life well lived. An example to all.” Como received five Emmys from 1955 to 195”J”. He has the distinction of having three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his work in radio, television, and music.
