Welcome to Joseph Davis State Park! Originally known as Lower Niagara State Park, it was renamed to honor Joseph Davis for the over 20 years that he served as the President of the Niagara Frontier State Park Commission. The park includes many trails, access to the Niagara River, several ponds, wetlands, a 27 hole disc golf course, picnic shelters, a playground and a plethora of birds!
The Canada Goose is a water-fowl that is well known in our area! Branta canadensis, is a large wild goose species with a black head and neck, white cheeks and a brown body. Primarily a herbovore and normally migratory, it is found close to fresh water.
The park is free and open year-round, however, in the winter access is only from River Road (18F). This is a dawn to dusk park, so no night caching please!! Many areas of the park are wet, so have those boots handy! Sections of the park are open to SMALL GAME HUNTING, so pay attention to pheasant and rabbit season especially. JDSP also has coyotes, fox and deer, so watch your dogs!
The main parking is located near this cache.
