Geocache Description:

Welcome to Joseph Davis State Park!  Originally known as Lower Niagara State Park, it was renamed to honor Joseph Davis for the over 20 years that he served as the President of the Niagara Frontier State Park Commission.  The park includes many trails, access to the Niagara River, several ponds, wetlands, a 27 hole disc golf course, picnic shelters, a playground and a plethora of birds!

The Blue Jay, Cyanocitta cristata, is a large songbird whose noisy call is familiar to many people!  It is blue, white and black with a perky head crest.  Known for it's intelligence and tight family bonds.  Their fondness for acorns is credited with helping to spread oak trees!
The park is free and open year-round, however, in the winter access is only from River Road (18F).  This is a dawn to dusk park, so no night caching please!!  Many areas of the park are wet, so have those boots handy!

This section of the park is open to SMALL GAME HUNTING, so pay attention to pheasant and rabbit season especially.    JDSP also has coyotes, fox and deer, so watch your dogs!

The coordinates will bring you to several signs and parking for two cars.  Here you will find information on the FIELD PUZZLE.
