Geocache Description:

ENG

Lakštingalų takas (path of nightgales) is an abandoned staircase which connected Lazdynai district with Exhibition center, Neris river, a trolleybus stop and a field, which was later used as a baseball court. It was a DIY staircase, built from different materials in around 1985 by a forester, which locals described as a cute old man. The forester have also built a few benches and wooden handrails which doesnt remain today. Roe deers lived here in the past and there was also a spring, flowing near the stairs. Locals would come to drink from it.

Curently there is a project to transform the forest into a park so the stairscase is probably counting it's last days.

There is a recently built recreational area near the construction site.
