Welcome to NTHU night market!
It's a famous night market in Hshinchu area. You'll find it is different from Shilin, Keelung or Luihe Night Market in Taiwan, which means it's not consist of many street vendors or stands, but has lots of food shops and restaurants along the streets. Since the food court is near National Tsing Hua University(NTHU / 清華大學), so it's called "清大夜市", or the abbreviation "清夜".

Let's talk about its history! In 1954 Feb, Zhōng Zhēn Military Kindred Village was built in Hsinchu area.
The big chemney of Hsinchu branch of the Sixth Navy Fuel Plant During the Japanese Government is a representative of the village landmark, which is the memory for the locals in the village. You can find the chemney at the waypoint 1
Nowadays, Zhōng Zhēn Military Kindred Village has already declined, and developed into shopping area, residential district and the night market. But you still can find some historic sites around this area. As like the chimney, Victory English Fellowship(waypoint 2), holy spirit church(waypoint 3) and the entrance of the village!(waypoint 4), but now you only can find a stone carved "忠孝新村" at the location.
