Highlands County is known for its murals throughout the county. There are 3 postcard murals - Lake Placid, Sebring and this one for Avon Park. Artist Joe Starkweather has over 20 years of artistic experience in his awe-inspiring murals. The mural is located just east on the side of the Tax Collectors Office.
Avon Park is the oldest city and located within Highlands County, named after Stratford-upon-Avon, England.
