Geocache Description:

This geocache is part of the Historic Trail of GeoTour – Sebring Area Florida’s Hidden Gem (GT48D). This area was originally known as the Cow House settlement, many of the first settlers homesteaded just south of town near Istokpoga Creek. Eventually it was renamed Sunnyland in 1925. While the name Sunnyland did not last long, it would live on through Sunnyland School and Sunnyland Church. Those institutions are now the historic Lorida schoolhouse and Lorida Church of the Brethren, respectively. The old Lorida Schoolhouse was constructed in 1926 and survives today as a local community meeting center.
