In 1967, the Essa Centennial Library was established in Angus to commemmorate the centennial year. In 2006, the library's name changed slightly to Essa Public Library. In December 2011, the library moved from its original location on Mill Street to the new (bigger) joint facility with Nottawasaga Pines Secondary School.
