「Before I die….I want to build a tree house…」
Have you ever noticed that there was a treehouse near Hsinchu Science Park? Do you know who had the talent and built it? Come to find this cache and learn about its story and the effect to the nearby military kindred village!
In 2015, a girl from Taipei, 鄧晴心, studied in Professional Training Center Ministry of Economic Affairs in Hsinchu. She often went to NCTU for jogging. One day, she changed her exercising route, accidentally finding the old village -- Lì Gōng Community. She was deep attracted by the evergreen ruins and recalled the daydream wishing when she was little -- building a treehouse! After that, she went to the office of the chief of village, trying to persuade him into letting her build the treehouse. Everyone thought she was craze at that time, but still agreeing with her idea and providing space for her.
Then she started to achieve her dream, she built the treehouse only by herself... Finally, a lovely treehouse was born into the old village. She named it after her nickname "ChinChin". She regarded the treehouse as her secret base, and often having snacks, playing with kids or reading the books on it.
After graduating, she built another treehouse "Flying Treehouse" and opened a coffee shop in the village. If you're lucky, you could find her in the little coffee shop.
About Lì Gōng Community, thanks to the effort from ChinChin and the locals, the old military kindred village has become a small but beautiful attraction. Take a walk in the street and enjoy the charm of the village!
