This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

Salvation Army Citadel
This building is the former Salvation Army Citadel now set up as Clare Doctors Surgery. This Citadel built in early 1900’s remains a visible reminder of the contribution of the Salvo’s to the Clare district.
The Salvation Army came to the mid north in 1800’s. At first Salvation Army officers were treated with great suspicion and prejudice by the local larrikin element, with egg throwing and taunting a regular occurrence. The local publicans also mounted opposition, reacting to the Salvationists endless war on intoxicating liquor.
This building replaces the original barracks, first housed in a former school building at the top of Mill St.
The Citadel passed into private ownership in late 1900’s.
