One thing that I really love about getting out on the trails of Florida in late winter and early spring (besides caching), is the aroma of saw palmetto in bloom.
It's such a subtle scent that most people are unaware of it, and can't even detect it when I alert them to it on the trail.
It's almost a phantom scent, because if you just walk up and sniff the bloom, the scent is barely detectable, but it will waft abundantly through the air in the vicinity of the plants.
I kind of feel sorry for those who are unable to smell it, or just think that I'm crazy. I guess they can enjoy their bloomin' onion, and I'll delight in the sweet aroma of bloomin' palmettos.
When accessing this cache, be careful of the nearby gopher tortoise burrow.
