This geocache is hidden among the ruins of Old Kernville (Once Whiskey Flats.) Before the Lake Isabella Dam was builds in the mid 1900's this area was a bustling town. Originally a gold rush town formed around the Big Blue mine which was strong gold producer for many years. After the construction of the dam Kernville was moved to its current location. When the lake level is low many of the ruins are visible. I'm not sure what the building was where the geocache was hidden, but from the looks of old pictures, it would be just above the school house(ruins located below).
