Join us for a day of Finds, Fellowship, and Food in the Ocala National Forest! Bringing you geocaching schnanagins for the 15th year, Florida Finders Fest invites you to come enjoy the trails of Ocala National Forest near Mill Dam.
This year we will be hosting a one-day event full of tricky fun hides and challenges. It has come to our attention that the creatures that dwell within these woods are far more cunning then first estimated. We will be learning about the mysterious creatures of the woods. How to track them, how to trap them, how to defeat them, and maybe how to befriend them as well. There will be prizes!
Starting at 8am, drive though the parking lot and look for a crazed person handing out info on where you can find and study these mysterious creatures (aka your list of coordinates/target items). You will have 5 hours to search the forest high and low to locate the creatures. Return to camp by 1pm to have your creature sightings verified. From 1pm-2pm, we will mingle with a bring-your-own-picnic lunch while we will verify your creature sightings. Winners will be announced at 2pm. We look forward to seeing all our friends again this year and look forward to meeting some new geocachers. This will be a fun, random, goofy day of geocaching in the woods.
Due to COVID we will not be having overnight camping or food service this year. Please bring your own food and drink. We recommend bringing camping chairs as well. To facilitate social distancing, the pavilion will be closed. There are many picnic tables spread out over the campground, but winners and prizes will be announced near the pavilion. Please do your part to keep everyone safe and remember to social distance.
