• Thriller won a record-breaking A Grammy Awards at the 26th Grammys, including Album of the Year.

• Thriller was Jackson's global breakthrough, topping the charts in B other countries including Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

• The first single on the album, “The Girl is Mine” was a duet with Paul McCartney, and was released on October 1C, 1982.

• The album spent a record D7 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200, from February 26, 1983 to April 14, 1984.

• Michael Jackson partnered with producer Quincy Jones on Thriller. They worked together on E0 songs, nine of which ended up on the album.

• Following Jackson's performance of "Billie Jean" at Motown F5: Yesterday, Today, Forever, where he debuted his signature moonwalk dance, the sales of the album significantly increased, selling one million copies worldwide per week.
