In the midst of all this craziness with the Godforsaken COVID19 pandemic setting life as we know it askew, I decided to take advantage of a warm afternoon, get some fresh air, do some much-needed maintenance on a couple caches, and ID a few new spots for some ideas that have been floating around in my head. I rather enjoy this little patch of land; it's scenic and peaceful...and has more beaver activity than I have ever seen in one location. I'm rather convinced that it won't be long before they've deforested the entire area. As I continued walking along the familiar Old road, I had a rather odd song stuck in my head for springtime. I imagine it had something to do w/ the Poinsettias I purchase just before Christmas each year, as this is about the time I normally lose the battle trying to prove that they are, indeed, perennials. With Christmas Eve / Sarajevo from none other than the incredibly talented Trans-Siberian Orchestra melodically entertaining me, I continued traipsing around, thankful for the gps in this winding maze of trails. Just a short ways past the final is by far the largest tree I've ever seen taken down by a beaver; rather awe-inspiring and a reminder of what one determined individual is capable of accomplishing. Stay safe, and stay separated, but get out and get some fresh air and sunshine when you're safely able to do so.
And yes, Mr./Mrs. FTF, that is for you.
