Welcome to the City of Toledo's Willys Park. This 111.3 acre park has Baseball Diamonds, Drinking Fountain, Horseshoe Court (needs repair), Benches, Picnic Tables, Play Equipment, a Public Pool Complex (undergoing renovation), a Community Building, Tennis Courts, Walking Trails, Open Fields, Wooded Areas and a large Creek.
This is the second geocache that I placed here as the tree has continued to rot away and has swallowed my first container. I assume it is still there somewhere. This cache is accessible with only a slight climb. But that climb may be a bit difficult.
Nearby parking can be found at the point that the original Pioneer Lane meets the new version of that road (waypoint provided). The city is using part of the old road as a storage area for piles of dirt, broken asphalt and bricks, so eventually they may get rid of this pulloff area. Permanent parking areas are available in two large lots on the North side of the park (waypoints provided). But those are quite a walk to GZ. From these two lots, walk across the park (or follow the perimeter path) to Pioneer Lane and follow it to a point near GZ.
Note this road is in the final stages of construction, but it is once again open for traffic, so use appropriate caution while walking along the road's edge.
The park is only open daylight hours, so no night caching!
