When I placed my first cache on this trail, I already knew one was going to go near here. Specifically, this is very close to the top of the waterfall, a favorite spot for our family when hiking out here. Late in the summer, it is very easy to get across without getting wet feet, but sometimes in the spring or fall after heavy rains, it's almost impossible to cross and stay dry. But just before the bend, this grove of trees caught my eye and was the perfect home for this CC. The name for the cache, Grovestand, came to mind. It's a beverage from the brewery in Stonington where I was inspired to create the Emerald Pool cache. Looking at the surroundings after placing the CC, the name seemed to fit. The only thing difficult about this cache will be getting the log out and back inside. Please be careful and bring your TOTT and a pen.
