The History
On August 2, 2020, I wandered up to a 1.5/2.0 cache called Scream & Run (GC8X77M) in Cottage Lake Park and managed to DNF it because there were so many muggles around (it was found the next day). That turned out to be a historic event - it was my 1000th DNF. I did find it later on, but it has since been archived.
I had thrown a relatively well attended event for my 500th DNF and it seemed quite fitting to have my 1000th DNF also be a big party. Alas, with the pandemic, it was not to be at the time. Events weren't being scheduled then and so the event had to be postponed for awhile. Well the wait is now over!
As of the time I'm writing up this description, I now stand at 1072 logged DNFs on the website, which is two more than I had at the start of today.
Event Particulars
LOCATION: Cottage Lake Park, Picnic Shelter #1 - the same park where DNF #1000 happened!!!!
TIME: 11AM - 1PM
FOOD: I will provide hot dogs, buns, condiments, and a selection of soft drinks, along with paper plates, etc. Please feel free to bring a side dish (or not) if you like.
CACHES: There are caches in this park. I will not guarantee that I can find any of them. There are boat caches, so feel free to bring watercraft or friends with watercraft.
FREE STUFF: I have lots of things to give away, including a number of unactivated coins and other cool swag (assuming I don't DNF it that morning).
