TIME TO CELEBRATE THE 20TH....WHOOOPS.....21ST ANNIVERSARY OF GEOCACHING! It's also a GREAT time to celebrate a return to freedom and happier times with Covid Related Public Health Restrictions being lifted on July 11/21!
SO....TIME TO CELEBRATE 21 YEARS ON THE 21ST DAY of AUGUST! That's easy to remember! PLUS-by attending, you earn another virtual souvenir....International Geocaching Day: August 21! What's that you say?? TWO SOUVENIRS? That's right-You also earn a Souvenir for attending a COMMUNITY CELEBRATION EVENT!
Come on out to Carrot River's first ever geocaching event in my hometown! There are plenty of caches to find here and on the way here if you are traveling down Hwy 55 East(a new series!) as well as older caches along Hwy 41! Come and see where the remains of BIG BERT were discovered-there's an Earth Cache in his honour! I am pleased to add that a number of new caches just might be published the day before, the day of and/or the day after the Event-that's ALL the information I'm going to give you all so far! 
We will meet in the CONFERENCE ROOM of the Carrot River Inn between 12 and 1230pm. PLEASE PRE-REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT-IT'S IMPORTANT FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS-FOR THE GAMES BEING PLAYED BEFORE AND DURING LUNCH AND ALSO, FOR LUNCH RESERVATIONS! SORRY-LUNCH AT GIENI'S IS PART OF THE EVENT, YOU MUST ATTEND THIS PART ALSO-NO EATING SANDWICHES IN THE PARKING LOT 
A wonderful number of people have already signed up in advance, so I have gone ahead and put together a Scavenger Hunt that will have people working in teams and going out in the Community to fulfill those oh so tough 'challenges' as you compete for faaaaaaaaaaaaaabulous prizes! 
Another game will be played during the lunch break-details will be announced the day of event!
You will be given a SCAVENGER HUNT LISTING upon all attendees' arrival at the INN by 1230PM...please bring cell phones/cameras-you will need them along with pens, smiles, and MAYBE a willingness to ask strangers questions! You will be working in teams so no need to get nervous about the HUNT...it's about 'the FUN FACTOR'...and getting to know other nice cachers too! Depending on whether I cut down on the HUNT listing or not, you may not complete the entire list....points will matter!
A SPECIFIC TIME will be given for all teams to return to THE INN by....anticipated time is 2pm or 2:15 at which time, lists/photos will be submitted/reviewed by the CO and Friends! While we are doing this, everyone else will be having lunch and playing another game.....an easy fun one too!
Wrap up and prize distribution, group photos and whatever else needs to happen is anticipated to happen around 3:30, we have booked the CONFERENCE ROOM until 4pm so we have some leeway here! Flexibility is a good thing, right?!

Come on out and perhaps visit a place you haven't been before and/or meet some people you've never met in person before! All while breathing in the fresh air and beauty of northeastern Saskatchewan!
