Geocache Description:

20 November 2022, 13:00 - 15:00

Sunday, November 20 at 1-3 pm

The Den by Moonshine Coffee - 690 Gray Avenue

There are some absurd holidays out there from Caps Lock Day, to Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day, to Talk Like Yoda Day. But perhaps none are as absurd as National Absurdity Day — though its origins are unclear, it likely started as a tribute to the philosophical theory of Absurdism. However, I like to imagine that the point of Absurdity Day is simply to do silly and nonsensical things.

Our beloved hobby of geocaching itself is pretty absurd when you think about the fact that we're using a multibillion dollar satellite network to find tupperware in the woods. It gets even better when trying to explain this to a friend asking what we do in our free time, or to a muggle wondering why we're looking up and down the same tree for 10 minutes on end. So come out and celebrate this strange holiday with like-minded cachers, just because!
