Geocache Description:

23 May 2021, 15:00 - 17:00

Better Late Than Never

The COVID-19 pandemic ruined many caching events planned throughout 2020, including this one originally scheduled for last August. The biggest may have been the 20th year anniversary celebration scheduled in Seattle. Many of us had to cancel our plans to travel for that weekend. And then the Navy moved me to Dallas in February and I never got the chance to say goodbye. Well, I'm back in the Memphis area for this weekend and wanted to get one more chance to spend time my fellow Tennessee cacher friends.

Calling all Geocachers: Please join me at International Harverster Managerial Park in Lakeland, TN, easily accessible from I-40 from the east or west, to celebrate Geocaching's 20th anniversary, albeit a year later. This is a kid-friendly, pet-friendly park and event. We will meet at the picnic tables. Please feel free to bring your own potluck dish. We'll be there between 3-5 pm Sunday afternoon with a trackable table, pathtag trading, swapping of sea stories, and maybe even some prizes.

Even though this is an outside event, masks will still be encouraged.

Last August there were at least 9 caches hidden in the park. Now there are 7 at least, and many are tricky tricky hides just waiting to be found. Maybe we can get a couple of more new ones hidden prior to the event. Come find:

GC4X0QY Yella Trailhead

GC2RF3R CWL012.2 Lakeland Stash

GC5AD0V A tight squeeze

GC4WZNK 29 CFR 1910.146

GC6GDJH The Woodsman

GC59QGG SpyroGyra

GC59QGV Skip to my Lou

Located at 4523 Canada Road, this 65-acre park consists of rolling hills, a five-acre fishing lake, "The LAMP" Amphitheatre, pavilion, over 20 picnic facilities and a portable restroom. It is a quintessential Geocaching park. There are 2.8 miles of walking/ jogging trails, along with biking and hiking trails through the wooded areas. A map of walking and biking trails at the International Harvester Managerial Park is available. See I.H. Park Trail Map (PDF file)
