Dragonskin is a Scouting event that has been held over the Easter long weekend every year since 1984. For the first time in its history, the 2020 event had to unfortunately be cancelled due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Under normal circumstances teams of teens aged between 14 and 17 from Venturer Scouts, Guides, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award spend the long weekend in a chosen NSW state forest navigating to and completing activity bases during the day and camping and having fun at designated overnight camps (VOCs) when the sun goes down.
Dragonskin 2020 (whose theme was to have been All Aussie Adventure) would have been held in the Belanglo State Forest from April 10-13.
Volunteer rovers and leaders had spent the entire previous year preparing for Dragonskin and the decision to cancel it, while the obvious, correct and highly supported choice was a sad one.
This cache was prepared before the decision to cancel was made and i felt it would be a shame to waste it.
