This geocache is located in the Dulin Church Memorial Garden. This is where I organized my Eagle Scout project where we made and installed two new benches, constructed a tiny lending library, and did some landscaping. Please enjoy the surroundings, take/leave a book, or sit back and relax on the benches. Please be respectful of the church grounds. The geocache was placed with the permission of the Pastor.
also be be aware of the small grass feild that has some stone benches on it. Please don't walk in the grass.
Dulin United Methodist Church traces its roots back to 1774 at Church Hill, a private home built in 1750, at what is now 6145 Leesburg Pike and was the second known Methodist preaching place in Virginia. The mantel from Church Hll home is now displayed in the hallway just outside the sanctuary. The present day church grounds, where the Memorial Garden is located, was given in 1867, by Mr. William Y. Dulin. Following the end of the Civil War, the first sanctuary was built here in 1869. Since that time the church has undergone three major additions and rennovations.
This geocahe was placed during the 2020 Virginia Stay-at-Home Quarantine Order. A few alcohol wipes are included in the geocache for health and safety. Please bring your own gloves :-)
