Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the 100-Mile Hike series. The cache is in Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve, near the junction of the Kennedy, Woods, and Limekiln trails. There's no easy way to get here -- no matter which way you choose, it's at least a 10-mile hike or bike, mostly uphill. But the views are worth the effort! From the top, you can see Lexington, San Jose, and the Almaden Valley. Just choose a cool day.

This cache is one of the longest and toughest hikes in this series. From the Limekiln trailhead on Alma Bridge Road, it's about 10.4 miles with 2,200 feet of elevation gain. It's slightly longer from the Kennedy or Priest Rock trailheads or if you do the Priest Rock > Kennedy > Limekiln loop, and much longer from the other starting points. You're looking for a small plastic container hidden a short distance west of the trail intersection. Make sure to note the keyword for the 100-Mile Hike final. It's in the logbook and on the lid of the cache container.

All MROSD preserves are open from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset. If you start on Alma Bridge Road, you'll need to pass through Lexington County Park, which is open from 8:00am to sunset. Happy hunting!
