I wasn't sure what to call this one, until one of our state birds crossed the Whitewash trail as we came down from placing.
Oh yeah, just off the Whitewash trail as it goes up the ridge. This section is steep and rocky, with lots of foot-sliding scree!
I've been focused on getting to know songbirds in this area, but why forget one that doesn't sing or fly as much?
