Getting really difficult to "social distance" anymore, especially with nice weather arriving. Looking for a semi-lonely place to get some exercise?
Well this cache will lead you there. I suggest parking where suggested and get the feet moving up the old Stompf Tavern Rd (There is no tavern here any more so can't have everything, but you can see the old Rte 29 bridge as you go by, then a nice view of tiny waterfalls and trickling stream sounds.) BUT there are some lazy cachers that will drive to GZ, the road is narrow and no pull offs. Get out and enjoy the view.
Pretty sure this is Lockatong geologic formation here, there a nice shield-like rock about 50 feet from GZon opposite side of road The Lockatong is often described as littoral sediments (lake bottom to you). Some hornfels here (sedimentary rocks heated from below by igneous intrusions)
Bored yet? This is a bright gold bison tube, to remind you to look on the bright side, not that that helps here.
