Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT IN OR ON THE DRY STONE WALL. PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB THE WALL.

We know the local hills quite well and have walked many of the paths around Ben Bouie many times over the years. Whether it be up from Helensburgh, the Daligan, Balloch, Craigendoran or Cardross, there are so many options. Today though, as a variation to our daily exercise, we decided to explore what looks like a dead-end path we've not been on before, in the hope to find a hiding place for a large container we've had for several months.... but it wasn't meant to be. Instead we found an interesting boundry wall between Argyll & Bute Council and West Dumbartonshire Council. It caught our eyes because one council decided to cut down the trees, the other one left them standing. On subsequent exploration walks we found that the forestry track turns into a narrow, overgrown path and joins the "Three Lochs Way" / "John Muir Way", further north from here.

We found a hiding spot for one of our other cache containers we had in our backpacks. After you have found this cache (or before), don't just turn around and head back downhill. Continue a bit further and you will be rewarded with some nice views.

If you decide to park in the village of Cardross, it will be about 8km roundtrip. If you decide to park at the given parking coordinates (if there is space), it will be about 3km roundtrip.

We placed this cache on the 10th of April 2020 as part of our daily local walk during lockdown. Checked it on 31st May.
