Geocache Description:

About the Container

You are looking for a plastic container. It is roughly the size of a gallon jug of milk, but a bit taller. There is room for trade items and trackable items. Please bring your own pen.

About the Location

The geocache is hidden in Cambridge Woods near the main foot path that runs parallel to the river. Please tread carefully so you don't trample the small plants.

You will be out in the open when you find this one. It is especially vulnerable to muggles, so look around for other people before you grab it. As always, should you be caught, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.

About the Spy Gear

The Tessina is a real-life sub-compact camera. The body measures roughly 2.5" x 2" x 1". It was manufactured in Switzerland starting in 1957 and it remained in production until 1996.

The Tessina uses 35mm film, which must be cut into lengths of 16.5 inches and loaded into a special slim canister. The film in a single canister can hold twenty pictures.

The Tessina made an effective spy camera in its time. It was popular with the secret police in East Germany during the Cold War.

Another group to use it was the Plumbers, who were a secret group under President Richard Nixon. They were originally tasked to find sources of information leaking to the press, but members of the group were later found to commit illegal activities themselves. This included a break-in to DNC headquarters at the Watergate offices in Washington DC on June 17, 1972. FBI investigators found a black Tessina camera on one of the conspirators.
