新竹市最高峰為標高187公尺的五步哭山。這座山會有這樣一個奇特的名字是因為1895乙未攻台戰爭時，此地為台灣義勇軍與日軍的古戰場。當時義軍死傷慘重，可說是一步一血淚，故有此名流傳。時過境遷，曾經的古戰場已蛻變成為科技感十足的科學園區。站在此地，想像著一百年前的景況，相信你也會有不少感觸吧。另外，此地的油桐花與藍花楹皆十分美麗，在花季時你可以欣賞到這座幽靜山頭不同的面貌。

The highest mountain of Hsinchu City is Mt.WuBuKu,whose height above see level is 187m .When Taiwanse against the japanese government in 1895 A.C,this place is one of the main battle field.The taiwanese suffered heavy casualties in this battle,so the mountain was named WuBuKu,which means"five steps and crying".In summer,you can see Jacarandas and tung trees in full blossom.This scene is very beautiful,highly recommended you to visit.
