UPDATE: In mid-October 2024 the historic Goldman House was torn down. We are hoping that some of the sculptures were saved and there may be something on display or a historic marker here once development is complete. Please visit the links below to see what the house was like.
The cache is within sight of the Goldman House, a building on the National Register of Historic Places for its art, architecture and social history. The sculptures on and around the house celebrate labor, industry, protection, and art. The home was built in 1915 as part of one of several utopian/communist/anarchist communities in the area. The old Fellowship Farm School at the end of School Street takes its name from one of these communities.
Further information and photos of the outside and inside of the house can be found in Weird N.J. Issue #52 and the following websites:
Don't park in the Rutgers Athletic Center lot as that is by permit or paid parking only. There is some street parking but pay close attention to stretches that have no parking signs. We have provided coordinates for a lot in a public park that is a pleasant 1/3 mile walk on flat, paved sidewalks to the cache.
FTF prize is our custom geocoin “Breathe in, breathe out, cache on!”
Congratulations to rainbow_fairy on the FTF!
