Geocache Description:

* * * GEOCACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE POSTED COORDINATES * * *

Throughout history, cultures have viewed mental illness with a variety of confusion. The Eastern Lunatic Asylum, 1773-1885 Adventure Lab explores the early history of America’s first public mental health facility, established in 1773 in Williamsburg, VA. The "Public Hospital for Persons of Insane and Disordered Minds” provided treatment during some of the most turbulent times including both the Revolutionary War and the War Between the States.

To locate this bonus cache, which has been designed in the style of a letterbox hybrid, you must first complete the Eastern Lunatic Asylum, 1773-1885 Adventure Lab (the first stage of which is located at the posted coordinates).  Once you complete the final location, check your 5TH JOURNAL ENTRY for a video.  The video contains the KEYWORD you will need to enter in the certitude link below.  Don't worry about missing it, as it will appear three times. This will provide the instructions needed to locate the bonus cache.

Be sure to check out the large number of historic lithographs, photos, documents, and maps located in the GALLERY.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

A gigantic THANK YOU to the amazing ZIPPYFINN for creating the beautiful stamp in this letterbox-styled bonus cache!  There is not an inkpad in the container.  However, you are welcome to take one of the pre-stamped cards if you do not have your own.  Obviously ... please do not take the stamp.
