Geocache Description:

Perched at the top of Woodridge is a newly formed reserve name Hauora Reserve. This is on the top of the hill and the Maori translation is healthy wind. During the pandemic lockdown this path was quite popular and many rock cairns were created by the track. There are 3 caches placed on the reserve.

I can attest at times time the wind is more than healthy but downright blowy even for Wellington. If it is a breezy day hold onto your hat and even your toupee. The plus being wonderful 360 degree views where one can view the harbour, look at the Hutt Valley, look up north and even view Cook Strait and the top of the South Island.

I won’t post any photos of the views as they will be spoilers and should be enjoyed by yourselves.

The reserve has a non-demanding loop walk with a well formed path. The cache is slightly off path but easily accessible. There is not too much traffic on the loop but please be aware of any muggles that may sneak up on you.

The Cache

The cache is a screw top container which has room for small trackables.

Please bring your own writing stick. Any entries not on the physical log will be deleted.
