Geocache Description:


During the Covid-19 lockdown of April 2020 we found highways and by-ways around Newtownards that we had never been to before.  

This multi will take you on an interesting short walk.  It is appropriate that this cache was hidden on the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day.

There are a couple of possible routes that will take you from Stage 1. towards Stage 2.   The final location is:

Stage 1. 

             A = The number of ‘e’ s in the name of the Public House that is mentioned.

 

Stage 2.

             B = The year that Scrabo Tower was built – the 3rd digit.

            

             = The number of Bars that Lieutenant Colonel RBM had on his D.S.O minus 1.

 

D = The number of Victoria Crosses awarded to the Ulster Division during World War I.

 

             E = The number of words in Latin below a famous verse written by Laurence Binyon.

 

F = The number of Victoria Crosses awarded to Ulster men during the Battle of the Somme.

 

G = The year Rommel made capture of Tobruk his main objective 1st digit plus 4th digit. 

 

H = The year that Tobruk fell.  The 3rd  digit plus the 4th  digit.

 

J =  King George V paid tribute to the XXth Ulster Division – the 2nd digit.

 

K = The number of the Light Anti-Aircraft Battery minus 2.
