Geocache Description:

While George Harrison had been contributing songs to Beatles albums since 1963, he had often been in the shadow of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

"Here Comes the Sun" is a Beatles song from their 1969 album Abbey Road. It was written by George Harrison and is one of his best-known compositions for the Beatles.

Harrison wrote the song in early 1969 at the country house of his friend Eric Clapton.

Harrison chose to avoid attending a meeting that day at the Beatles' Apple Corps organization. He said he was relieved that he did not have to go see the accountants, and he walked around the garden with one of Eric's acoustic guitars and wrote "Here Comes the Sun."

The lyrics reflect his joy in the arrival of spring as he enjoyed the short hiatus he was having from the band's business affairs. As of September 2019, it was the most streamed Beatles song in the United Kingdom, with over 50 million plays.
