“Since the woodcutter, the railroad, and I myself have profaned Walden, perhaps the most attractive, if not the most beautiful of all our
lakes, the gem of the woods, is White Pond.”
-Henry Thoreau
White pond is a beautiful pond located on the Sudbury/Concord Border. This pond was formed over 12,000 years ago by a glacial ice sheet, making it a 60 foot deep kettle pond. White pond is the lesser known of the great kettle ponds and lakes in this area, but it certainly is a gem of the woods.

The trails around White Pond are vast, so I have included a waypoint for two parking locations (the further parking is a better walk, but the closer is faster). I suggest you take some time to explore the trails in this area. Per request of the Divison of Natural Resources, I ask you to please stay on the trail. Due to the highly erodible slopes in the area it is critical that you do not leave the trails you are 25ft from the caches GZ.
The cache itself is in a painted altoid container, I have left a few trinkets and a travel bug for the FTF.
