Cache is located near the 10-Mile Creek Trail. The cache is just large enough to hold a small pencil, log and a few small trade items. Note the red-tailed hawk nest in the cottonwoods to the north of the cache.
The cache can be accessed with a short hike from the Montana Wild parking lot or a little longer hike from Spring Meadow Lake.
The nest was active when I placed the cache in April 2020. We had observed two chicks in the nest that year, although I don't think they made it because the nest was blown out of the tree during a windstorm in late June, before the chicks had fledged. The nest site was not active in 2021. However, although I have not seen the adults this year, it appears that there is a new nest in the tree again this year.
