Glen Lake Rotary Park formerly known as East Gallatin Recreation Area has a number of activity options. The 4 acre lake is popular for swimming, SUP, kayaking and fishing. The park also known by locals as Bozeman Beach has a sandy beach area & diving dock as well as picnic shelters, volleyball court, pavilion, climbing rock & grassy areas. There is a 1.7 mile loop trail with only a 16 foot elevation. The trail is popular with walkers, runners & bikers.
The area was once a gravel pit and the city dump. The land was transferred to the States Parks Department by Glen Hash, whose business owned the pit. The landfill site was later converted into a recreation area and awarded the national "Take Pride in America " award.
December 2018, a 50 year lease was signed allowing the city to manage the park which is on state owned land. Part of the lease agreement called for the park to be renamed as Glen Lake Rotary Park.
The painted "keep out" rock is within the park's boundaries. Go beyond the rock as it is not on personal property.
DO NOT GO BEYOND THE TREES WITH RED SPRAY PAINT PAINTED ON TREE TRUNKS. THE PROPERTY BEYOND THE TREES IS NOT WITHIN THE PARK BOUNDARIES. THE OWNER OF SAID PROPERTY IS FED UP WITH PET OWNERS WHO LET THEIR DOGS RUN OFF LEASH AND BEING ON HIS PROPERTY. The cache is within the park's boundaries.
The park is open year round 7am-10pm, Sunday-Saturday. Please enjoy this beautiful park surrounded with the Bridger Mountains.
