Voor deze cache moet je eigenlijk toch minstens een jaar of 50 oud zijn. Anders begrijp je mijn nostalgische gevoelens niet.
Ben je een jonkie, lees dan de tekst gewoon door. Beantwoord de vragen en zoek de cache. De cache ligt op een mooie locatie in Amsterdam.
Begin jaren '80 kocht ik mijn eerste homecomputer. In die tijd was de Commodore 64 ontzettend populair, maar ik koos voor de ZX Spectrum 16kB. Die was een stuk vriendelijker wat betreft de prijs.
De ZX Spectrum, niet zomaar een homecomputer. Nee, één die maar liefst 16 verschillende kleuren kon weergeven. ZESTIEN KLEUREN! Fantastisch. Ik had daar eigenlijk niet zo veel aan, want ik had alleen een kleine zwart-wit tv waarop ik die Spectrum kon aansluiten. Maar toch!
Deze super homecomputer had een schermresolutie van maar liefst 256x192 pixels. Je kon op je scherm wel 24 regels kwijt, elk met 32 karakters!
En een geheugen van 16 kB. Wat kan je daarmee allemaal niet mee doen? Wat een techniek!
Het rubberen toetsenbord was niet ideaal maar eigenlijk ging het prima. Die toetsen werden ook wel "dood vlees"-toetsen genoemd, omdat ze zo aanvoelden.
Er waren sneltoetsen waarbij je vier vingers tegelijk moest gebruiken om de juiste combinatie van toetsen in te drukken.
En toch was het een super ding.
Er zaten twee boeken bij. Een handleiding hoe je de ZX Spectrum moest gebruiken en een boek om de programmeertaal Basic te leren. Weken ben ik er zoet mee geweest.

Software kon je laden via cassettes en een cassetterecorder. "Jet Set Willy" was één van mijn favoriete spellen.
Voor meer software fietste ik naar de Amstel nr 312. Daar zat een computerwinkel gespecialiseerd in software en lectuur voor de homecomputer. Ik heb er heel vaak lopen struinen om het leukste spelletje en het beste tijdschrift te vinden.
Vele jaren heb ik de ZX Spectrum met veel plezier gebruikt. Nu kan je je niet meer voorstellen dat de mogelijkheden van toen zó bijzonder waren.
De cache

C = stapeltel de naam van de processor (naam van de processor bestaat uit één letter en twee cijfers).
4. Met welke voedingsspanning werd de ZX Spectrum 16kB gevoed?
D= voedingspanning (alleen het getal)

Warning beforehand:
For this cache, you should really be at least about 50 years old. Otherwise you would not understand my sense of nostalgia. If you’re a young’un, simply just read the rest of the text. Answer the questions at the bottom and find the cache. The cache can be found in a beautiful location in Amsterdam.
In the early 80’s, I bought my first home computer. During those times the Commodore 64 was incredibly popular, but I decided to purchase the ZX Spectrum 16kB. It was much more affordable. The ZX Spectrum was not just any home computer. It was capable of displaying 16 different colors. SIXTEEN COLORS! Amazing. Although it wasn’t really of much use to me since all I had was a little black and white TV to connect the Spectrum. But still…!
This super home computer had a screen resolution of no less than 256x192 pixels. You could fit 24 lines of text. Each with 32 characters! And it had a memory of 16kB. The possibilities were endless. What a technology!
The rubber keyboard was far from ideal, but wasn’t all that bad. The keys were also described as having a “dead flesh” feel due to the feel of them.
There were also shortcut keys for which you would need to use up to 4 fingers in order to push the right combination of commands. Yet, it was a great machine.
Included were 2 books: A user manual for the ZX Spectrum and a guide teaching the programming language “Basic”. This kept me busy for weeks.

You might recognize it!
Software could be loaded from a cassette and cassette recorder. “Jet Set Willy” was one of my favorite games.
For more software I would ride my bike over to Amstel #312. This was a computer electronics store specializing in software and literature for home computers. I often strolled around in search for the best games or a great magazine.
I used my ZX Spectrum for many years and with great enjoyment. Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine how amazing the possibilities were considered back then.
