What to do on that extra Bank Holiday when Christmas is over but it's not quite time for New Year's Celebrations.
Celebrate Christmas - Australia Style - on the beach. No barbie though.
Instead we just plan to meet up on the beach, have a chat about our festive geocaching adventures and admire any geocoins exchanged in the name of the Christmas season (swap any that need moving about before New Year's geocaching adventures)...and make sandcastles.
Christmas sandcastles.
There will be prizes. Depending on numbers we will do separate kids' and adults' prizes. These will NOT be all the left over soft nougat bars/coconut bars/strawberry creams and other chocolates from festive tubs that the Amphibians don't like. Or unwanted socks from a relative. Probably not anyway.
Categories: most festive? Possibly. TBC.
We would prefer that you also wear your best (or worst) Christmas jumpers and hats for that festive look.
Possibly also bring a flask of something warm to drink. This is the Humber Estuary in December after all.
Update: sandcastle judging will be at 11:30am. After which The Nutty Amphibians will head to a nearby pub for lunch and you're welcome to join us.
Wet weather contingency plan: if it is chucking it down I'll announce an alternative indoor location. Sandcastle design competition for the kids.
