Back in 2020, Geocaching did a limited release of "Community Celebration Events" - events which were to be hosted to celebrate 20 years of geocaching. Then, of course, the Covid-19 pandemic hit and like so many things in our lives this event was put on the backburner in hopes to be held at a later date.
Fast forward two years and here we finally are, hopefully turning the page on this pandemic. While many people (such as myself) have some health issues which still limits them from choosing to go to close-quartered inside events, this event is an outdoor event at beautiful Middle Cove Beach.
With this event I hope to have a family-friendly beach fire to ease into the 9pm sunset - and I'm sure at least one geocacher will be having smores. I hope to rekindle the flame for our small local caching community, and do some catching up with those whom we have not seen for so long.
Speaking of which - this is truly a global community event, as our caching friends from the Netherlands will be in town, and plan to attend as well.
In the case of poor weather, we will try again the same time the next night.
Whether you are able to attend or not, I hope this finds you well.
Take care,
Cache the Bayman!
