Pioneers settlers arrived from Sweden on July 1, 1886, and settled in the Ohlen colony, south of Stockholm, Sask known as the District of Assiniboia, NWT.
In October 1888 they organized the Evangelical Mission church. The church builidng which still stands on the original site, was dedicated in August 1895. The cemetery in the church yard is still active with the ocasional burials in old family plots.
