Fun fact: The cannon displayed over by the highway entrance near Parkside Drive-In was actually used during the Civil War. In the 1960s, some high schoolers got hold of a real cannonball and fired it out of this cannon. Local officials immediately disabled the cannon and filled it with concrete to prevent this from happening again.
