This cache is placed here, after having walked this path like a hundred times. Just outside of the village and city and almost into another world. A place that exhales the calmth and peace that a lot of people search for while going for a walk.
It's hidden on a place along the route, but creeping away in the darker bits.
A beautiful path through the lands, exploring all bits of plants and flowers. The korte Tiendweg is a beautiful route between Haastrecht and Gouda. Here in the Netherlands, there are 55 historical streets and paths named Tiendweg, all in the river area in the midst of the country. Along the Hollandse IJssel, there are 13 alone already. The creation of most date from 1100 to 1500.
But why is it named that way? There are multiple theories about that. Some say its from the dutch word "belasting tienen" which is basically the collecting of taxes that were paid for the harvest of the farmers. Others seek the explanation in the tying and oulling of carts and ships along this road, or in the tying of the water.
!!WARNING!! You can NOT reach the path of the cache from the side of the sportsfields. The path drawn on the map is not open to the public. You have to enter from the livingarea and park near the houses instead.
