Crocodile Walk is a small path by BHASVIC college, linking Dyke Road at the northern end with Old Shoreham Road (the A270) at the southern end.
In the year 2000, parents and children of the nearby Stanford Infant and Stanford Junior schools formed a "walking bus" group to safely walk to and from the schools, crossing the two busy major roads named above. Calling themselves the Stanford Crocodile, they successfully campaigned for better and safer crossing provisions resulting in a pedestrian crossing on Dyke Road and a zebra crossing on Old Shoreham Road. The path between the two main roads was officially named "Crocodile Walk 2000".
