Welcome to Lake Shropshire! Dallas' most secret lake. You won't find this on any maps or with any Interweb searches, but this geocache will lead you right to it. I have no idea who created this sign or why it's there, but it was a good excuse to place a geocache in the area. We live nearby and use the area behind the fence for a dog run. If you see a few white and tan dogs playing there then most likely that's us.
This should be an easy park-and-grab. 99% of the time this parking lot is mostly empty and you should have no problems. However, if Gilley's / Southside Ballroom is having an event then the parking lot may be monitored or even have a fee. Traffic can be a huge mess too during an event.
Normally I'd say you could do this cache up until about midnight or so during normal times. The nearby theater operates fairly late so you won't be too conspicuous parking there if it's movie time. During COVID-19 lockdown, though, the parking lot is deserted. I wouldn't advise doing this cache past about 10pm.
You don't need to go past the fence to get this cache. You should be able to park within a few feet of the cache. You'll need to bring a pen. Please roll the log up and insert it into the cap before screwing it back on.
