Geocache Description:

It was 1919 and a group had just come ashore at Salmon Haul Bay Jetty from the coastal steamer Orara for the opening of the new Ocean Jetty. Bringing them from Sydney for a Picnic day outing they walked up the hill to the Monument that commemorates explorers George Bass, Matthew Flinders and the boy William Martin.  It was their second voyage this time in Tom Thumb 11.

Matthew Flinders and George Bass explored and mapped the coastline south to the Illawarra and entered Port Hacking estuary in March 1796. Today the southernmost point of Cronulla is named Bass and Flinders Point in their honour.

Before going any further, you need to download the Geocaching Adventure Lab app from your app store. Once installed, complete the historic tour by going to:

https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/CronullaHistoryTour

Having completed the 5 stages of the Cronulla History Tour Adventure Lab, you will receive 5 finds in your Caching Name Lab Statistics. When you leave a comment in the Activity Log, you are then qualified to complete this Bonus (additional logging requirement and is optional). You will be given the coordinates to this cache in the final journal entry. You will have to go back through the Journal entries to retrieve them. I will cross check from time to time to see who has completed the AL with a comment. Thanks for your understanding.
