Our maritime history has had its fair share of centuries of shipwrecks and lives lost at sea.
Now, with our modern maritime exploits of offshore oil, new challenges face those who brave the elements for a fair living from our ocean neighbour.

This monument, designed and build by world-class artists, stands as a memorial to the current offshore oil industry related helicopter crashes. While the memorial itself is not only striking, for myself the plaque nearby is quite informative, as I did not know there was another helicopter crash beyond flight 491 in our history of offshore oil development.
So: come for a little history lesson and introspective moment, and there is a cache here as well to reward your journey. After all - one of the tenets from Groundspeak is that caches should be hid in meaningful places - and this is certainly a meanginful place.
The cache is winter friendly, and is nothing more than a cache and log sheet to recod your visit.
