The Cache - TK#8
After emerging from the swamp path onto St Andrews Road, cross over to access the pavement. Take care, this road is busy at times.
The bridge here was originally built by the monks at the priory in the 15th Century after one of their group was drowned whilst crossing the tidal estuary here. Collect the Information for GCW0NK near here.
It was rebuilt in the 1990's to accommodate heavy traffic. Walk along the pavement until you are opposite the bottom of Driving Lane.
Try to imagine what this area must have been like at high tide in medieval times. It is believed that Driving Lane gets its name because animals would have been driven up and down this road to access boats and barges that would have been able to moor up here.
You now have a steady walk up Driving Lane to TK#8 and TK#9.
This section of the lane can be busy at times.
The cache is a 4 inch long camo tube. Please bring your own pen.
