The Cache - TK#11
As you walk along this reasonably quiet lane it is hard to imagine that the area to your left was the location for miles of mine shafts and tunnels when the Fowey Consols was producing copper in the mid 19th century. Many of the miners lived in Tywardreath and would have walked these lanes to and from their places of work every day.
You are also now on another short section of the Saintsway Trans Cornwall Footpath.
On the far horizon in front of you at about 2 o'clock is the ridge where the Iron Age hill fort of Castle Dore is located.
The cache is a small click-lock box covered by a couple of stones. Look for the last big tree on top of the hedge to the right as you walk along the lane.
